ISB is seeking a qualified candidate for a postdoctoral scientist position to undertake the computational modeling and analysis of the process of yeast colony formation. Due to natural genetic variation, strains of yeast exhibit a rich variety of highly complex colony morphology traits that can be quantitatively studied with image analysis. Experiments will generate large scale genetic and transcriptomic datasets to profile the molecular processes that govern these phenotypes. A multiscale high-performance computing modeling infrastructure has already been developed, paving the way toward development of multiscale (molecular, cellular) models. The successful candidate will have experience and strong skills in mathematical modeling and analysis of (preferably biological) data. Candidates with experience and formal training in engineering, computer science, physics, or other quantitative fields are encouraged to apply.
